Withdrawal

Now that the Giants are out of the playoffs, I need something to be fannish about. Sadly, my bonus does not come through until March, and I will need to wait until then to get my Ghostbusters DVD set.

Also I need to go to Mitsuwa for some decent udon noodles and some jasmine pearl tea.

A couple people, including yourself, have recommended BG. What I need is a nearby friend to bum the DVDs from. :)

I found Cromartie High to be hilarious - if you want to download and watch, there's about 20 15 minute episodes, and if you trust my recommendation enough to buy, you can get the whole series for about $20.

Sayonara Zetsubo-sensei is also good - I think the show is in its second season now. It's not out in America yet, so you definitely have to download it. But it's got more going on in the background at any given moment than Excel Saga, so it warrants rewatching over and over :)

Also, Doctor Who. ::points at icon::

The official Doctor Who DVDs are disgustingly expensive, though! $90 for one season?

Which reminds me that I do have Life on Mars to watch, but I've been watching the American version and I don't want to spoil it. What a conundrum.

The American Life on Mars will probably start to derail from the British show so that it can go on longer than 15 episodes, though, so feel free to spoil self :)

I can loan you my Doctor Who DVDs if you'd like - I have the first, second, and fourth seasons of the new stuff.

Okay, now I want to see a crossover: This American Life on Mars (http://www.thisamericanlife.org/). XD

I'd love to borrow first season of Doctor Who, when next we meet.

I would love to lend it to you and spread the word of Who. I'm tied up this weekend, (unless you have Monday off too?) but free next weekend.

I also thought of This American Life on Mars as soon as I typed that!

Pushing Daisies is a fabulous (and getting cancelled, sigh) show. I have the first season on DVD available for borrowing.

Also, I've been feeling the call of Mitsuwa too—when are you free? Perhaps we could arrange a trip :)

[identity profile] arafel.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Since there are no more playoff games forthcoming, I'm free for the foreseeable future. :P

Whee, alliteration!

I feel your pain. It was such a close game for the first bit, and then just a big letdown.

What about this weekend? I've only got plans on Friday, so both actual days off are free for me.

[livejournal.com profile] fadingembers seems to want to go too, so let's coordinate.

You can also watch it all free on ABC.com. At least for now. ::sobs::
