Stupid lab tricks

My labmates are engaging in the fun and worthwhile activity of making projectiles out of syringe plungers using a can of compressed air.

It's so good to see children at play.

The best thing about scientists is that so many of them refuse to grow up and grow old :-)

The average mental age of the people I work with is about four and a half, and that's being generous. (myself included.)

I proudly lay claim to that range of mentality myself :-))))

If they did that at my job, the company would have a fit. LOL.

However, I remember making up balls of sticky stuff and throwing them on the ceiling and timing how long it took to unstick. :)

The idea is to do it where no one can see you. XD You know what else is fun? Liquid nitrogen!

Balls of sticky stuff, eh? We'll have to try that.

The two delinquents who share my office lodged many toothpicks in the ceiling by way of a blowgun straw. Then one of the managers complained. NO SENSE OF HUMOR.

Liquid nitrogen can be fun but it can also be dangerous. But you know that. :P

Oh yes. The worst thing we've ever done with liquid nitrogen was "let's see what we can freeze in it!" None of us is dumb enough to try the parlor trick where you hold some in your mouth and spit it out.

[identity profile] archaeologist-d.livejournal.com 2008-06-17 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. Rolling it in your hand isn't recommended either although I've done it. :P

Yes, I've frozen stuff with it myself - mostly flowers.

No, but this sounds like a good way to get back at someone. *files reference mentally*
