the 80's don't always hold up

Husband is convinced that the writers of the second season of Voltron were smoking something and must have had about the best time writing it.

Husband: "Listen to this! Lotor and Merla are going to 'quit evil' and get married!"

Me: "They're on the 12-step program - they're going to ditch the galaxy conquest and take up gardening."

Husband: "Or open their own chain of Home Depots."

LOL. I have no idea what Voltron is but your discussion was really funny.

Voltron was a cartoon that most of us 80's kids watched and remembered as being extremely awesome. Like many 80's cartoons, it didn't age well.

Yes. Yes, they did.

And it was awesome.

Season two of Voltron was produced as per fan demand, and the writing suffered terribly. I have to admit I didn't finish watching the entire season. Still, some of the things Haggar said were amusing, and I'm a sucker for the Sven/Romelle romance- even though he died and so did his brother. There's no longevity in that family. XD

The episode we saw last night looked like it had been doodled on the back of an envelope. I'd love to know who came up with the script.

Most of season two reminds me of season three of Transformers. You know, the one that came after the movie was released and we were treated to some really...questionable episodes. Some, like Web World, were awesome.

But then there was Carnage in C Minor. Often regarded as THE WORST EP EVER in TF history. Watch it. I dare you.
