Reverse psychology

The more right-wing groups that come out against Rudy Giuliani, the more I want to vote for him.

Christian right leader writes off Giuliani

If voting in a primary didn't mean choosing an affiliation, I'd do that too.

I think Giuliani is trying to straddle the fence and I have no faith he'd actually stand up for women's rights, but in a "death is not an option" scenario, I'd choose him over a lot of the other Republichristians.

It may be all bluster now, but Giuliani generally means business. Either way, it does take balls to come out and state your position against the party lines.

*nods* I have to agree. He has not caved on this so far, and he's donated to Planned Parenthood in the past, which kind of makes me think that he's already pitched his tone as close to the party line as he's gonna, and if the right-wingers don't like it, too bad.

If only he didn't believe in torturing people.

In the last debate they did the absurd 'episode of 24' scenario, where there's ONE PERSON you might be able to torture to SAVE THE WORLD. And no one called bullshit on it, sadly, but McCain said something COOL AND AWESOME about how being American and having ethics is important and should mean something, and that one of the things that sustained him while he was BEING TORTURED was his knowledge that WE DIDN'T DO EVIL SHIT LIKE THAT, and everyone else was pretty much a weasel and Guiliani was all "I'd do WHATEVER IT TAKES" because being macho is more important than being right and...

Um. This is An Issue for me.

I didn't see that show, I fear.

I saw the clip on, I think, Countdown.

Can't we try drafting Elizabeth Dole and see if she remembers how to act like a human being while in office? The neocons have been happily grabbing everything that's a traditionally liberal-origin milestone anyway, let them have a female nominee.
