WTF, Livejournal

Did anyone else get a signup for an Old Navy newsletter upon trying to login?

Fuck you, LJ, I give you $35 a year. I don't want ads.

I used the menu bar at the top of the page to sign-in, and didn't get an ad. If it happens again, I'd suggest signing up with support@livejournal.com as your email address and see if they get the hint.

...I was gonna say "Probably because you weren't logged in", but then I remembered that allegedly the "default" setting was to have ads turned off.

But then again, that may just be for registered users, and for those who are not logged in on any account, and may not even have one, the default is to see ads. Which would be a bad, bad idea, LJ. :P

I got so sick of ads in general that I got Adblock Plus + NoScript for Firefox. Especially after installing NoScript I haven't had to deal with website ads at all, even though it was a hassle at first, having to manually allow JavaScript for websites I frequent.

Hmm. I haven't encountered that so far, but will likely post about it if I do. Thanks for the information!
