(no subject)

they're coming to take me away, ha ha
they're coming to take me away, ho ho, ha ha, hee hee
to the funny farm!
where life is beautiful ALL the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats
and they're coming to take me away ha ha!

to the happy home
with trees and flowers and chirping birds
and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
and they're coming to take me away ha ha!

I think someone better double-check the contents of those shakes you've been drinking. =P

Oh, those are lyrics? I guess I don't recognize them. What's it from (prepares to feel like complete dufus once he realizes it should be obvious).

Hehe... I haven't thought of that in years! We had it on a record when I was a kid, along with other early Demento-ish hits, including "The Witch Doctor" (oo-ee-oo-ah-ah), "Shaving Cream," and "Hey There, Little Red Riding Hood..."

I've always wanted to see someone twiddle their toes.

I have Dr. Demento's 20th anniversary collection. :) Boy am I a nerd.

I love all those old songs. "Hello Muda, Hello Fuda" (or however they spell it) was funny too. And "Ahab the Arab" and "Snoopy and the Red Baron" and all those old Goofy Greats. I am sure they were lousy musically, but they made me laugh.

My mother taught me a host of silly and rude songs. :) Someday I will get her to teach me "Davey Goldstein," but she still refuses.

And Snoopy and the Red Baron rules!
