Big day, the CD burner is back. Yahoo! The computer ppl at Princeton turned this baby around in record time. Now to get back to burning those CD's...

In the interim, I placed an order for a 12/10/32A Plextor CD-RW, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. It was an expensive item and maybe in the long run I'd rather have an Ethernet card. More ways to waste time. Guess it depends on whether the Big Boss-man is going to spring for Internet connections for all of us. It's $10/mo for the P'ton connection. For the whole lab, I think that's...let's see.... $120/person/yr times 12 ppl... $1440.

Not much going on these days. Tomorrow I will leave early because it is a holiday. We spent Palm Sunday with Steve's family, so Easter will be with mine. It's my mom's birthday too - I can't believe she's 58. Getting older is so depressing.

It's so nice having my own comp at my desk now. We have the usual Mac vs. PC war going on between the Big Boss-man and most of the students. This means that we have Macs that he likes but no one else does, and PC's that are always at a premium because everyone wants to use. An Internet connection would be really nice. Napster from my desk. Even MORE ways to waste time.

Chugging away on Chapter 8 of the fic. I never imagined that it would garner the following that it seems to have. It's been fun to write, anyway. I'll have it done in maybe a week, provided it hasn't gotten too campy.

That's all for now!

I don't think the PC Mac war will be over soon with Mac still hanging in there with their cheap DVD burners and fast (?) processors. Usually middle aged men in science depts seem to prefer Macs to PC whereas their students want PCs. Strange that.

Good luck on chapter 8 !
