Snowy day

Wow, the snow is falling down and down outside. It started flurrying when husband and I went out this morning to make sure we had some adequate entertainment for the next day or so, and it's snowing like mad now. Good night for a pot roast!

We hit the Borders, and I bought Vol. 1 of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," which looked interesting. I figure that if DW is my new crack, might as well learn something. Husband was thrilled that I wanted to read OMG HISTORY even if it's from a video game. I have to wonder what the historical personages would think about a video game based on their lives. Husband thought they'd be mortified. I thought once they got past that, they'd be all "Look how much butt I can kick!"

Other than that, have finished up the first ep of Bleach (interesting enough to dl another ep) and have started in on Xenosaga: The Animation. So far, it's exactly like the game. This is just fine, since I got stuck on the fight with the DOMO carrier and lost interest, and now there's a pretty animated series to wrap that up.

Hopefully will squeeze in some RahXephon before the end of the weekend. Three eps on one disc - ADV, you cheap bunch of wankers. Although you get 10000000 Funny Points for selling a hentai called "Samurai XXX," as [livejournal.com profile] fadingembers pointed out.

Good luck with the snow storm. The news seems to say that you folks in the NE are in for a fun time.

Please post if you like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, that sounds like a book I would be interested in.

I'm enjoying the story so far, but the translation is awkward in parts. My edition is two volumes and the translator is C. H. Brewitt-Taylor - it's available on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0893469262/qid=1106422325/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/002-6482074-0365645?v=glance&s=books). You might indeed enjoy it; it's an epic easily on the order of the Iliad or the Odyssey.

Oooh. I <3 RahXephon. Starts out slow, but is a beautiful series. It's kinda like Eva but less fucked up and pretensious.

Wooooord. I like Ayato so much better than Shinji.

I watched the first episode or two of Xenosaga, got frustrated because my audio kept getting unsynced (my fault for multitasking) and just re-started playing the game. Noticed a couple of little differences -- mostly just that the show is a lot less violent/bloody.

Also went on a "downloading the first episode of whatever's on bittorrent" spree but haven't gotten around to watching Bleach yet.

I'd not heard of Samurai XXX -- great joke. :D
