All righty kids, it's Let's Get Some Crap Off My Desk time.

I have an aging external DVD-RW given to me by my father when he got a new DVD-RW. It is an HP DVD 200e - dated, but I think it still works.

First one to state that s/he wants it, gets it.

Here's your caveat emptor, though: the drive lacks a power source, so you'll have to buy one. I don't have the part number in front of me, but I've seen it sold for about $30-50; sometimes for less on eBay. The driver disks are around here somewhere, but I'm sure they're also downloadable from HP. ^_^;

This might provoke a chorus of crickets, but it's worth a shot. Any takers?

*amused* Do you really want the drive? I have to admit that it's quite unlikely that your shoes will fit me. (Maybe that's a reflection of how useful a non-powersourced DVD drive is?)

*laughs* I work for the company. I don't care how hard you think you are to fit - I'm adept, I'm nimble - and they're brand-new! (I also have a big blond goof for a husband that wears a 13, and a nephew that wears a 14 - I'm experienced!)

No, really. I *like* outboard drives - and I work for an IT department. It's a good fit - if I have to find a power adapter, I'm well-connected to do it. Shoot, you say it works - that's half the battle! I also have plenty of contacts that work for HP as well.

Yes, I could really use it. Honto.

Oh! *grins* Well, that's a different story. I didn't know you worked for somewhere that makes/distributes shoes. I'm glad to hear that you can get a power source easily, since it would suck if you bought one and then the drive didn't work. Aw, poo, beat me to the punch. Not like I desperately want it or anything, though, and my brain is trying to tell me that I don't need any more stuff as is. I could always invest in a new computer rather than trying to extend my old POS's life. Thing's been resurrected like three times now.
