(no subject)

My cousin Chris, who works in New York at Morgan Stanley, is all right. My cousin Tim, who also works in New York, is all right. They are both in the financial district.

My cousin John Paul flew out of Logan this morning. He is safely in the Midwest. Thank God. He could have been on one of the two planes that hit the WTC.

My family is so sacred to me, and especially my cousins... I have no brothers or sisters so "cousin" is all I have. The word has such a depth of meaning to me which means I do not use it lightly. It might as well mean "Brother" or "Sister."

I am so thankful that they are all right.

That's good to hear (that everyone is okay). But still... All those relatives and friends of those that were killed--what they must be going through now.

That is true. I keep thinking of each person whose father, mother, husband, wife, sister, brother isn't coming home tonight.

I still cannot help but be glad that my family is safe.

I am glad, and more than glad, to hear that so many of the folks I spoke to today now know their loved ones are safe. Love and light to you and yours; tak care of yourselves and each other.

Thanks. And to you especially as well, since it seems you're a New Yorker. Giuliani was on TV earlier and he praised the resilience of NY'ers in the time of crisis. I hope that some sense can be made out of this mess.

That's very good to hear. I thought of you today when I saw what was going on. I know you aren't very close (relatively) but still, it is good to hear that you and yours are well.

Thanks. You're right, I'm not that close to NY but I certainly have a lot of relatives who work there or who might have a reason to be in the city.

Thanks for the thought. :)

A very close friend of my works for Morgan Stanley as well.... and another work for a company 21 stories below. I was scared to death for my friends and relatives when I heard the news, I was in the student union and everyone just broke down, hugged strangers, crying together.

Then I rushed back to my room... the phone wasn't working, I tried cell phone, wasn't working either. I kept trying like crazy until 3PM, and finally got a hold of my parents, and then more news reached me, from friends who work around there. It wasn't until 9PM that I heard from the two friends who work in WTC II. Right there I felt like crying again.

This is certainly something I will remember for as long as I live.
