Letter from the disgruntled

Dear Mr. Shockey,

In regard to your recent comment on CNNSI about fans who leave before the game is over, I have only one thing to say to you: Shut the fuck up.

First off, Fassell is right - the traffic getting out of the stadium is horrendous, and we always leave with about five minutes to go in the fourth.

Second, you and your team didn't do a good job of scoring too many points on Sunday, did you? So, if I'd stayed to watch you piss away another set of downs, or throw another interception, or (in your case) drop the ball and/or get another penalty for taunting, I would have still seen you guys lose. And then, the traffic!

So, Mr. Shockey, I would like you to quit being such a goddamn loudmouth. A word to the wise - piss off New York, and that loud mouth of yours will suddenly find a very cold audience. You've gotten by this far because New York loves your attitude, but if you start taking potshots at the fans, that could change.

I understand that it might be dispiriting to see the fans leave before the game is over. However, here's a novel idea: if you WIN A COUPLE GAMES, that won't happen. Pretty easy, huh? Oh, and if it was up to me, you'd warm the bench for a game or two so you can think about all those personal fouls.

You have nothing on Mark Bavaro. He's dumb as dirt, but I prefer that to you. And, he can play better, too.

Love and kisses,

Section 211.

It seems that the modern "superstar" receiver just has to run his mouth about just about everything. Personally I don't like the showboating, when receivers make the first down signal after a catch or any of that junk. One of the reasons I liked Barry Sanders was because when he scored a TD he didn't make a big dance like he'd never been there before. He just handed the ball to the ref and went to his sideline.
