Heavens, I used to love that man. His show was relaxing and reliable and, compared to most other few kids' shows, amazingly free of inanities...

I was really sad when I heard this, too. His show made such an impression on me when I was little that looking at the pictures in his obituary, I feel like I'm looking at someone I once knew. A relative. (I hesitate to say a neighbor, because that sounds hokey, but that may be closer. Do you know what I mean?).
